Bruce - Available (VA)

Bruce is a gorgeous 7 year old Mastiff boy who will be your forever friend once you gain his trust.  The way to Bruce’s heart is of course lots of treats and belly rubs – nothing exists around him when you are scratching his favorite spot!  He’s curious about everything and is learning to socialize more comfortably with people.  He is a little timid around new people and will vocalize his trepidation but give him a minute and he warms right up.  He seems to get along well with his furry friends (big and small) in the neighborhood after a slow introduction.   He does let you know when he’s hungry or needs to go out by his vocal cues.  There’s no guessing with this guy!  He is a sweet chill fellow the rest of the time and just enjoys being near his humans. 

He is working on his leash manners and is very responsive to reinforcement and confident cues.  He’s a big love bug and will snuggle with you on your lap if you let him.  He does love the couch but will respect you if you say no as long as there’s a comfortable bed for him to enjoy.   He also loves running into bushes to take care of business so be careful of any prized shrubs!  He does not like thunderstorms and will look to you to help him relax.

He is in excellent health, very mobile and relatively active.  He loves longer walks followed by even longer naps.  He’s fine hanging out by himself should you need to leave him on his own for a few hours.  He’s a wonderful dog and will love you unconditionally.
