Luka - Available (NC)

Additional Information

If you’re not ready to have your heartstrings pulled, stop reading now.

Luka is a big (200 lbs), 5-year old fawn, male Mastiff, coming into rescue because his owner died recently. His owner’s daughter moved into the house to take care of Luka, but this is a temporary fix as she has no experience with dogs. We are looking for a foster or adopter to love and care for a big-hearted and well-mannered Mastiff!

His current caregiver describes him as relaxed in temperament, if a little insecure at the moment. He follows her everywhere, laying his head in her lap, and is happiest lying at her feet while she reads or watches television.

He occasionally barks at a stranger, but is not aggressive, and backs down easily.

He is beautifully housebroken and leash-trained.

He is well-vetted. Full medical records are available. He likes playing and spending time with other dogs, but is definitely NOT a friend to cats. Children do make him anxious.

He probably will be happiest in a household with one person or a couple since this is what his life has been up to now. If you’ve got room in your home and heart for a big, devoted, loving Mastiff, be sure your application to foster or adopt is current.
