Another elegant female mastiff who found her way to us because a Good Samaritan took her in and wanted to find a rescue familiar with the breed. A woman who fosters regularly in MS heard about Madam whose owners were going to euthanize her because she was blind. The offered to foster and began looking for a mastiff rescue. Madam turned out to be sweet, charming and funny and although there was an oddity to her vision the woman became convinced that she wasn’t blind since she never ran into anything inside or out. Once in rescue we had her seen by an ophthalmologist who reported that her vision was fine; she simply had very treatable eye infections and the cloudiness made it difficult for her to focus on small objects on the ground. She’s now been successfully treated and is ready for adoption.
Like most mastiffs, her favorite activity is anything that involves being with you. She’s playful without being high energy and has nice gentle manners. She seems curious and relaxed with other dogs and the home she came from had children although their ages are unknown. She is wary of new people but warms up quickly to treats and kind words. Her ideal home would be a person she can be devoted to and spend lots of time with. She’s a happy, relaxed girl who likes a lot of conversation.
