Maddie is an elegant, young female Mastiff, turning two on December 14, 2020, and coming into her full-blown social personality. She has been raised with children, growing up with a 10-year-old, and frequently visiting with a family that includes an infant and a toddler. She has lived comfortably with three other dogs, one of whom was a foster.
She came into rescue with some anxiety issues, inclined to bark at strangers initially, but this reaction is being reduced nicely by her calm, experienced fosters. After a few minutes she settles down and has been quite friendly with everyone. She is super mellow with her family, a serious cuddler and couch sharer. She is at her sweet best interacting with her family.
She loves car rides and the outdoors. She is curious, exploring and learning new things. She likes walks, but needs more leash training. She also needs consistent work on basic commands since, like all young Mastiffs, she tends to view commands as “suggestions”. She currently has a large, fenced in-yard and is definitely taking advantage of it. Maddie is ready for a forever home. With your help, we can give her one for Christmas.
