Maggie is the very definition of a gentle giant. Charming, open and quiet, she is at her happiest
around people of all sizes and ages. She loves nothing more than belly rubs and snuggling.
Maggie was found as a stray in Louisiana but didn’t let any time on the streets bring her down.
When she arrived at the shelter her good cheer and impeccable manners quickly made her a
shelter star, spending her days in the staff office being spoiled. She has been a friend to every
child she has come across and was the Shelter Mama to every child who visited.
Her foster describes her as The Perfect Mastiff, always quiet, well-behaved, funny, totally
adaptable and undemanding. Maggie came into their multi-dog household and blended
smoothly with everyone. Within a couple of days her foster had to take her to a Board Meeting
at work and Maggie calmly lay at her feet during the meeting. Now they regularly go to work
together. Maggie is a very intuitive Mastiff who knows how to read a room and adapts to her
Not surprisingly she gets along easily with other dogs who are friendly and easy-going. She
seems curious about cats but is easily redirected.
She would fit beautifully into any mellow, laid back family looking for a Mastiff that fits into
every activity effortlessly. She would be happiest if some children were involved, outings with
car rides were included and plenty of time for belly rubs and snuggling. Hopefully the humans
would need to indulge her devotion to the couch. She is certainly willing to share.
