Maizey is a very sweet and outgoing girl who adores going for walks on nature trails. She is typically well-behaved on leash but can get overly excited when passing people, sometimes attempting to jump up to greet them. Maizey is extremely food motivated and shows her excitement during meal times by spinning around and dancing. While she's not particularly interested in toys, she enjoys exploring new places as her form of enrichment. Another one of her favorite things is receiving attention from people, as she is friendly towards everyone, including strangers.

Maizey is a fan of all people, including strangers. It takes her no time at all to warm up to new people. When passing people on trails she can get a little too excited at times and try to jump up to say hi to them, but I have had no problems pulling her back and redirecting her.

Behavior with Other Dogs: Maizey becomes very excited when she sees other dogs and may pull hard on the leash in her eagerness to meet them. Due to her size and excitement level, introductions to new canine companions should be slow and carefully managed to avoid overwhelming them. She may exhibit minor barrier reactivity towards other dogs when in her kennel or passing crated dogs on walks, but she is generally easy to redirect. This behavior could be influenced by her current isolation from other dogs at the vet clinic.

Behavior with Cats: No exposure to cats noted.

Training: Maizey is house trained, crate trained, and proficient on leash.

Ideal Home: Maizey would thrive in a home with a structured environment, patient owners who can manage her excitement around other dogs, and continue her positive reinforcement training. Her love for outdoor activities and human interaction makes her an ideal companion for someone who enjoys both.
