Meeting called at 12:05pm
Lynn Moore and Dawn Gherkin, SSMR trustees, were nominated and voted in as authorized signatures on our Southern States Mastiff Rescue Charitable Trust bank account at Truist bank.

Financials:

Accounts all reviewed and rectified. Tax extension granted, will file in October.
Cash on hand is $64,090. Down roughly $16,600 (payback of loan to Anne Elwell, Simba expenses, regular operating expenses, vet bills and medications are up quite a bit).

Auction items:

Lynn shared some of the items we received from Kelly’s estate that can be auctioned, for rescue funds. There are a LOT of items. Lynn has been photographing them.

Documentation Review:

Need to revise the section about release forms in the SOP. Should not get the release too far in advance, too many variables. (Kimberly to revise, then Dustin to review one more time) Documents need to go in ELT place on website.
Lidia to advise on where to store them.

Insurance:

Our insurance carrier is getting out of the rescue business. Need to find a new one.
Current ends 6/27/24.

Criteria needed for dogs in long term boarding (behavioral issues, etc.):

Boarding is very expensive. Some dogs are there for a long time if they are not good with other dogs/cats etc.
For example the current 2 that are in Carmen’s have been there almost a year. Vet expenses on top of that to keep them healthy in boarding.
Spending a very large amount on dogs that are not adoptable takes away from those that are.
We propose evaluating boarded dogs at their 6 month point. If cost is reaching 2.5 greater than usual cost per dog a trustee discussion needs to be called to evaluate the dog. Voted: 4/4 PASSED!

Explore Amazon Wish list idea:

Creating wish lists that others can purchase for dogs in foster. Would be dog specific so that items can be sent to the foster.

Rules for foster to adopt- hospice/palliative would not fall into this category. Need to check in on regular intervals with fosters to see if they are ready to adopt. Ask Claire if she feels a more definitive timeline is needed in paperwork.
Ebay charity- We are now listed as a charitable account. People can donate a percent of their profits to us from selling. We are easier to find as well. Kudos to Lynn and Lydia!
MCOA- Kimberly should join, and Mikayla if possible.

Shelter paperwork- when we need to complete a new application (susan?)

Financial update- We reviewed financials. We need fundraising.
- Dozer- Ask Claire if he can mix with their dog (Drew's dog). Need to figure out the future- does Drew want to adopt? If no, then do we need to vote to put him down?
